Body - all-metal, welded, supporting structure.Its elements are connected to each other by contact welding (in hard-to-reach places - by electric welding with a semiautomatic device in an inert gas medium).Panel joints and welds are sealed with mastic. Glasses are of a safe type.The windshield is three-layered, polished.Door glass and tailgate glass - polished, tempered (tailgate glass - with heating element).The windshield, the glass of the tailgate and the glass of the side windows are installed in the body opening in rubber seals. Glass doors - drop.

Energy-absorbing bumpers made of U-shaped aluminum beams are installed on the front and rear of the body.
The front seats are separate, with adjustable backrest tilt and longitudinal movement.The headrests are removable and adjustable in height.Back seat - with one-piece cushion and backrest.The seat can be folded down to transport bulky luggage.The front and rear seats are equipped with three-point retractable seat belts (four seats in total).
In a variant version, the car can be equipped with air conditioning, power steering, headlight washers and washers, electric door locks, power windows.

Body parts "long Niva"
The body of the VAZ-2131 car is a station wagon type, a supporting structure, a five-door, based on the basic elements of a VAZ-21213 car body.The increase in the wheel base of the VAZ-2131 by 500 mm led to the need to increase by 500 mm, respectively, the front floor 21 (Fig. 2), the roof panel, which consists of three parts 5, 6 and 8 (Fig. 1), the introduction of new external body elements, such as: front 15, middle 14 and rear 11 sidewall panels; front 5 (fig. 2) and rear 7 outer roof connectors. Replacements were made to such internal elements of the body as: front 4, middle 6 and rear 8 internal roof connectors; amplifiers 15 and 13 and overlays 14 and 12 of the middle and rear pillars; bottom overlay 16 sidewalls.
Body rigidity is provided by reinforcements and linings; additionally, the floor amplifier 24 and the amplifier 23 of the handbrake bracket are introduced.

Body lubrication
There is no specified period of time recommended for body lubrication. However, it is advisable to lubricate the following parts of the body once a year, before the start of the cold season.
• door lock latch;
• door lock roller;
• hinges for doors, hood and trunk.
Lubricated with grease:
• boot lid and hood latch;
• latch of the glove box cover;
• front seat skids.
When you have finished lubricating the body, make sure to wipe off excess grease, especially in areas of the body that come into contact with clothing.
Advice: How to determine if a body part has been changed on a car
When buying any VAZ model on the secondary market, it is easy to determine whether the car has been in a serious accident. Many body parts, with the exception of the front surfaces, carry a four-digit code.
The date of manufacture is encrypted in it: the first three digits are the ordinal number of the day in the year, and the last one is the year. For example, 3369 - 336 days, 9 years. It turns out: December 2, 2009. Comparing the date of manufacture of the part with the date of issue of the original TCP, we determine whether the body element has been changed.
